SHAKYAMUNI BUDDHA. Burma, Shan, early 20th century. Sculpted in alabaster, standing on a lotus-shaped hemispherical base, left hand on chest, right hand hanging down, robe (uttarasangha) covering left shoulder unfolded. The tight-fitting garment emphasizes the waist. The head and face are enhanced by a brown line. Mounted on a modern black wooden base. Weathered, as is. H. 63 cm - W. 19.5 cm - D. 14.5 cm.
