Two cockatoos, Europe, circa 1930 Two umbrellas, two identical models with different finishes. One with a burnt orange rayon cover, the other with a green silk taffeta cover. Carved and painted wooden handle depicting a cockatoo head, one with sulfur eyes and the other with painted eyes. Hand strap. Length 73 cm Ten 53 cm steel ribs (very good condition, restoration) N.B.: The fashion for cockatoos on "garden" parasol pommels around 1900 is cited in "L'ombrelle à travers les âges", in La mode du temps, 1914.
