1st place team diploma and first runner from France for the 1949 International Cross Country Championship in Dublin. We attach his badge from the competition. Souvenir Alain Mimoun. (1921-2013). Alain Mimoun is considered as one of the greatest athletes of the 20th century, after 3 silver medals, at the Olympic Games in London in 1948 and Helsinki in 1952, he won gold at the Melbourne Games Marathon in 1956. A member of the Racing Club de France, he has won 32 French championships in 5000m, 10000m, the Marathon, cross country and 20 French records in 8 different disciplines. He won his last National Marathon title in 1966 at the age of 45 and never stopped running. Throughout his career, he received numerous distinctions and was decorated with the Grand Officer of the Legion of Honour in 2008. Often second only to Emil Zatopek, an unwavering friendship will unite the two men for life.
