The kidnapping of Europe, around 1700 Folded fan, double leaf in skin painted on a black background, of Jupiter metamorphosed into a bull to take away the beautiful Europe, under the gaze of his companions and a love. The border is highlighted with a golden frieze and flowers. Revers painted of a young woman near a fountain in a frame of foliage and flowers enhanced with gold. Ivory frame* pierced with scroll-shaped foliage and flower baskets. When closed, the fan has a zigzag effect on the edge and an oak acorn shape at the head. 25.8 cm/ H.f. 12 cm (wear, missing a fold)
