Beards, ties and ruffles, Alençon, 18th and 19th centuries. Reunion of Alençon needle lace, a long beard, Dim. 108 cm x 8 cm and three ruffles circa 1760-70, decorated with sprays of flowers and cartouches decorated with various modes, two ruffles and a pair of beards circa 1770-90 with delicate small cartouches and flowers and a later tie with fine crossed rivers, stars and flowers, Dim. 95 cm x 11 cm, eight pieces in all. Linen (ptts acc. on some pieces) A yardage in Alençon circa 1720-30 (bleached acc.) is attached.
