FRANCE, XIXe siècle Elegant Japanese clock in bronze and cloisonné enamel Representing an Asian figure in gilded bronze partially nielloed with silver, in the style of Japanese ivory okimono, with an expressive face, he holds an instrument in his left hand and reveals the cloisonné enamel dial with Japanese numerals in his right. A protective 'shishi' lion on the front. The whole is presented on a rectangular base embellished with Greek motifs. Work attributable to Édouard Lièvre, possibly made for the Escalier de Cristal.
