BÉRARD Christian (1902-1949).
Invitation card for the inauguration of Jean-Michel Frank's boutique. Cover illustrated with a lithograph, preserved under glass in a modern blackened metal frame. Good condition, traces of moisture on the bottom of the marie-louise. Sight: H.: 20 cm - W.: 15 cm. Frame: H.: 32.5 cm - W.: 28.5 cm. History: On March 21, 1935, Jean-Michel Frank opened his boutique at 140 rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, with the help of Charles de Noailles, Elsa Schiaparelli and Emilio Terry. This event was reported in the May issue of Vogue magazine: "The recent appearance of Jean-Michel Frank's boutique, Faubourg Saint-Honoré (...) was also a Parisian event. Jean-Michel Frank's tastes have long been known and appreciated, so we weren't surprised to find, under the charming sign painted for him by Christian Bérard and in a luminous, sober setting, the most seductive ensemble of furniture, seats, tables, trinkets and lighting created by himself or executed after Christian Bérard, Emilio Terry, P. Rodocanachi, as well as vases, lamps and masks by Giacometti".
