Dalí, the model designed circa [1931-32] Base for the eponymous lamp; a rectangular pedestal hollowed out in the center and accommodating a wide-open, movable, flattened sphere. Plaster, metal rods. Early 1930s edition. Height: 21 cm - Length: 28.5 cm - Width: 24 cm Missing the wicker basket (forming a lampshade), the plaster cone, the ivory bead; accidents, cracks and fractures notably on the base, parts repainted. Provenance and history : Jean and Violet Henson Collection (1894-1974) (1887-1971). Probably received as a gift from Jean-Michel Frank (cf. Jean Henson, A time for réflexion, éditions Somogy, Paris, 1949, page 194). Archive: A photocopy of a photograph taken in situ at Jean and Violet Henson's estate in the early 1930s, featuring our Dalí Lamp (complete at the time) and the Anglo-American couple surrounded by friends, will be given to the purchaser.
