Evening coat by Mariano Fortuny, circa 1920-1930, open coat in green silk velvet printed with gold and silver, decorated with undulating stems and pomegranates inspired by Italian velvets of the second half of the 15th century. Boudin trim in similar brown velvet, cuffs trimmed with stapled tabs. Flesh-colored satin lining bearing the claw under the collar and a label sewn to an armhole marked GOZZI 086. The Metropolitan Museum of Art holds two similar evening coats, both in cut and fabric, Inv.: L.2018.61.32 and 2009.300.508.
