Félix Alexandre, 18th-century taste, France, circa 1870 Double-sided, folded fan with cream silk leaf painted in the 18th-century style. On one side, in brown and white monochrome, young people play the game of the hot hand. Signature "Alexandre" on the left in gold letters for Félix Alexandre, a prestigious fan maker and supplier to European royal and imperial courts in the second half of the 19th century. On the other side, in blue monochrome, children in procession follow the bride and groom, preceded by musicians. Signed on the left in gold letters "Alexandre". Goldfish mother-of-pearl mounting. Beveled plumes. H.t. 29 cm-H.f. 16.5 cm (small stains) In its blue silk-covered box with "CD" lettering, bearing under the lid the address of the éventailliste Alexandre, supplier to the European courts.
