"The Harvesters, Paris, circa 1768 Hand screen, numbered 2 in the series, in strong cardboard illustrated with color-enhanced engravings. On the front, two figures call out to a peasant woman with the line "Why upset her? She's pretty and wise (...)". Rich border of birds, flowers and cages, engraved by Arrivet. On the reverse, dialogue between various characters, including Candor, Rustaut, and Rosine from the three-act comedy by Favart and Fusée de Voisenon performed in January 1768 at the Comédie française. Mention on bottom edge: "A Paris chez Petit rue du Petit Pont à l'Image Notre-Dame". Turned wood handle painted black. Height: 43 cm (wear)
