Parasol, silk cover with "bavolines", and overcoat in black bobbin lace, decorated with twists and flowers. Carved, pierced and engraved ivory pole and tip. Two gold-plated runners bear the mark of the Parisian firm "Verdier". Gold-plated forks. Ivory handles carved with figures in gardens, among pavilions, bamboo and willow trees. China, Canton, early 19th century. Eight silk-sheathed whalebone ribs, 26 cm Total length 67 cm Weight 190 gr All umbrellas and parasols containing ivory, whale baleen or rhinoceros horn are issued with an intra-Community certificate, or K permit, allowing them to be sold in Europe. These will be issued to purchasers.
