Carved wood and gray lacquered frame salon furniture comprising six armchairs, two chairs and a sofa. The backs are medallion-shaped, the seats horseshoe-shaped, the belts curved and the tapered legs fluted and filleted with asparagus tips. The ensemble is decorated with foliage and friezes of interlacing, rais de coeurs and enrubannées stems. Louis XVI period, some stamped Pluvinet. Louis-Magdelaine Pluvinet (died circa 1785), carpenter received his master's diploma on April 19, 1775. Yellow silk upholstery. Chair : Height : 89.5 cm - W. : 47 cm - D. : 40 cm Armchair: Height 100 cm - W. 63 cm - D. 60 cm Sofa: Height 103 cm - W 190 cm - D 65 cm (Accidents, old restorations) A cabinetmaker on rue de Cléry in the last quarter of the 18th century, he was most likely the son of chair maker Phillipe Pluvinet. He produced Louis XVI furniture, using numerous motifs from the neoclassical repertoire. His work is nonetheless diversified, and includes a wide range of seating such as sofas of various shapes, bergères and armchairs adorned with the most elegant motifs of the neoclassical repertoire, as evidenced by our salon furniture.
