Pair of trays in polychrome marble and hardstone marquetry on a gray marble base, decorated with large scrolls of leaves and arabesques animated by birds. Italy, Florence, 18th century in the taste of the Grand Ducal workshop. They are presented on later green and gold lacquered wood bases. Height 95.5 cm - Width : 97.1 cm - Depth : 57 cm (Minor accidents) Although Rome was the birthplace of polychrome hardstone marquetry, it was Florence that quickly established itself as a specialized center, as early as the time of the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Francesco de' Medici.
