Sundial - Rectangular ivory diptych. On the face VSFE. Equatorial and polar sundials engraved in a frame. The removable style is positioned in the center. On the VSFI side. Engraved metal scroll for the lunar hour converter. An engraved graduation in degrees adjusts the inclination of the equatorial and polar dials. On the face VIFI. The recessed compass is surrounded by the hour circle of the horizontal dial. Inside the compass, in addition to the needle, is the adjustable hour dial of the magnetic azimuth dial, made of engraved metal and pierced to form scrolls. The bottom of the paper compass bowl bears the position, in degrees of latitude, of certain cities. Ink markings enhanced with watercolours. These indications are, among others, useful for using the equatorial dial. On the VIFE side. The circular metal perpetual calendar is engraved on the outside with calendar circles and in the center with a table of 49 squares.
