High-backed carved walnut pulpit in bas-relief with light-colored wood inlays. On the back is carved the god Mars in arms within an architectural frame of feathers, lions' heads and caryatid eagles; pediment with large flowery knobs and foliage; spectacular armrests with lion's nose from which a horse's hindquarters emerge; base forming a chest with a front door carved with a satyr's bust emerging from foliage, its pointed ears eaten by two eagles; smooth columns at the corners, inlaid with segments of light and blackened wood. Loire Valley, Second Renaissance circa 1560 H. 152.5 cm - W. 65.5 cm - D. 45 cm (wear and tear)
