Text: "Based on the results of the autopsy, the course and final outcome of the illness of His Imperial Highness
Imperial Highness Vyacheslav Constantinovich. The osteophyte found in the cranial cavity continued to develop during fetal life, and was the cause of mild but continuous irritation of the brain, manifested by various nerve symptoms such as : convulsive movements, of the muscles of the face and extremities, headaches, distractions during occupations and nervousness during work of the mind; in childhood, some years ago, under the influence of a few accidental causes, this condition was aggravated by a chronic inflammation of the dura mater, in the right part of the frontal region, and produced its thickness and adhesion with the skull. This new complication has inevitably affected the regularity of cerebral circulation, as it is in the sinuses of the dura mater that the venous blood vessels join. All these nervous attacks were repeating themselves more often, and were becoming stronger all the time, when in the course of last winter, new nerve symptoms such as : headaches, vomiting joined the previous ones, and around January 22, when the disease appeared in the eye region and under the influence of a few new irritations - the chronic inflammation took a more acute course, accompanied by active congestion; around February 4, it spread to the pie-mother, a "part" adjacent to the attacked part, and by virtue of the latter's exceptional anatomical construction, turned into suppurative inflammation which soon spread to the cerebral substance, to the part of the front of the brain, where, according to the description in the report, the abscess was formed, the main cause of death. It's hard to say what contributed to making the old dura mater trial more acute at the last moment, and to the spread of the disease first to the pie-mother and then to the brain substance.
The indication of a contusion that occurred in January in the Garden of the Tauride Palace cannot be satisfactory, given that it was very slight and was not accompanied by any nervous symptoms, or cerebral access - perhaps of any importance as the last impulse given to the brain - already prepared to assume an acute disturbance of nutrition. History: this document is the medical conclusion of the autopsy performed after the death of Grand Duke Constantin Constantinovich's fourth son, who died suddenly of cerebral inflammation at the age of 16. This autograph was found in the papers of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna (1875-1960), after her death, and kept by her daughter Princess Irina Alexandrovna.
Youssoupoff (1895-1970), and has remained in her family ever since.
