BARRAS Paul (1755-1829). Grey and black woolen knitted cap with lapel, topped with a green silk velvet skullcap embellished with a button that belonged to Barras, according to the handwritten inscription accompanying this historical souvenir. Preserved in an antique gilded wood frame. Work, early 19th century. Good condition, with age-related wear to the frame. Sight: H.: 17 cm - W.: 23 cm. Frame: H.: 33 cm - W.: 45 cm. Provenance: Arnna sale, Paris, June 9, 1949. History: according to family legend, this bonnet belonged to Paul Barras, French politician and revolutionary, from the estate of a Barras businessman.
