The Hussars under the Revolution. Reconstitution of Hoffmann's gouaches, burned at the Bibliothèque du Louvre in 1781, representing the Hussar Regiments from 1791 to 1795. Paris, J. Leroy, 1907, in-folio (400x290 mm), half-bound in red leather, edition of 200 numbered copies, second series N°12, illustrated with 28 hand-retouched color plates. Copy bound with a suite of 6 plates, representing the officers of the Régiments de Hussards of October 1st, 1786, Nancy, Société d'étude des uniformes de France, 1942. Suite limited to 20 numbered copies reserved for members of the Société des Uniformes de France, executed under the direction of Commandant E.-L. Bucquoy, drawn by Henri Feist, hand-colored by Auguste Thouvenin after Hoffmann's originals. Author's copy. Contemporary wear, but overall good condition.
