CHATEAUBRIAND, François-René de (1768-1848).
Signed letter. S.l.n.d. 1 p. small in-4°. Chateaubriand finds himself destitute. Letter in the hand of his private secretary, Julien Daniélo: "If I had my works, Sir, I would send them to you, but I don't have them and I don't have the money to buy them: you are therefore too happy, Sir, to be freed from an enormous mess on which I hope not to cast my eyes once for the rest of my life. Esteem me, I beg you, for what I am worth, and you will have nothing to regret [sic] [...]".
