École flamande vers 1750, entourage de Laurent Delvaux (1696-1778)
Two angels Altarpiece figures sculpted in the round in white marble H.: 70 x 42 and 66 x 42 cm. Restorations Here we find the influence of late Roman Baroque art that permeated the work of Flemish sculptors in the mid-18th century. Laurent Delvaux was the leader of this generation, which imported to Brussels the modern and contemporary style of Bernini's innovations, adapting it to the wiser tastes of the Flemish clientele. These two angels were to be part of an altarpiece decorating the high altar of a church or private chapel.
