Cartel of violonnée form in Boulle marquetry on a brown tortoiseshell and brass background. It opens in front of a glass door decorated in the lower part with a bronze motif representing the abduction of Europe. It reveals on the floor a marquetry decoration in perspective of rhombuses in brass and rosewood surrounding a semicircle with acanthus leaves and in the background a marquetry decoration of flowers and scrolls. The pediment of the cartel is surmounted by a love sitting next to an eagle holding a bird in its hand. The dial is composed of twelve enamelled cartouches with Roman numerals for the hours.
