Rare mirror of toilet of form moved in Parisian... - Lot 136 - Coutau-Bégarie
Rare mirror of toilet of form moved in Parisian varnish decorated in blue on bottom camomile of rocailles, clasps, flowers in the natural one and volatiles. Louis XV period, around 1740. The hinges in chased silver. H. 67,5 cm - L. : 40 cm (minor wear) This decoration in exotic taste "China style" designed to imitate the oriental lacquer is reminiscent of the sumptuous furniture in Martin varnish made for the blue room of the Countess of Mailly (1710 - 1751) at the Chateau de Choisy, partly preserved in the Louvre.
