Felice BOSELLI (1650-1732)
Still life with lobster Oil on canvas H. 105.5 cm - W 134 cm (with frame: H 122 cm - W 149.5 cm; restorations) A major figure in still life painting, Felice Boselli practiced in Italy between the second half of the 17th century and the first third of the 18th century. Influenced by the Flemish painters present in the north of Italy, the artist painted with a naturalist vision the reality of everyday life, transcribing on canvas the diversity of species with precision. The Louvre Museum has just acquired a painting by the artist: The Pigeon House executed around 1720-1730.
