A rich composition; a Shepherd accompanying on the transverse flute a Shepherdess who sings; they are seated against a vast monument; on either side animals, turkey hens, ducks, rabbits, fruits, and various characters: some are driving flocks, and others are watching the first couple. This beautiful composition ends on the horizon with a mountainous landscape and monuments. This charming painting is not the only one that shows how much Teniers was the man to know how to do, and to unite nobility with rusticity. On canvas." Private collection.
