Globe-trotter, Olaf Hajek collects memories, colors and images to feed his illustrations. "Everyone who paints a flower paints a flower, but doesn't know what's behind it. Nature simply fascinates me.
Since 2010, in solo exhibitions, the illustrator dives into a dreamlike and fantastic world, sometimes bordering on the surreal.
His Flowerheads series (2009) is particularly appreciated for its multiple references to surrealism, portrait art, the still life tradition.
