BEAUTIFUL SHOTGUN. Double barrel rifle in table by Boutet in Versailles. Burnished barrels, with sides then round, gilded in full and punched with the thunders of six punches of which two bars marked: "Boutet"; they are signed, on the band: "Boudet Director Artist - Manufacture with Versailles; silver point of sights surrounded by gilded rays; gauge approximately 14.5mm, tail of breech finely engraved. Flat-bodied, converted flintlock with percussion, engraved with a palmette at the rear, engraved with mythological animals and signed: "Boutet Directeur Artistique", on one and : "Manufacture à Versailles", on the other. Beautiful transformation with dog engraved with a chimera, probably made by Boutet or Le Page, under the restoration. Very beautiful silver fittings, punched; trigger guard decorated with a head of Jupiter surmounted by the imperial eagle, the front is chiseled with a winged ram under a flower bowl; entry of rod decorated with the head of Mercury and a caduceus surrounded by foliage; return of heel of stick chiseled of two chimera leaning, surmounted by a cup filled with flowers and fruits, sides of the bedplate decorated with foliage and crowns. Two silver ramrod loops, chased with friezes, are soldered under the barrels. Walnut stock, finely carved with pearls and foliage; scaled grip finished with a marine animal head sticking out its tongue. Good condition. First Empire period. Marks : Coq premier titre de Paris, 1798- 1809 ; medium guarantee, old man's head, 1809-1819 ; goldsmith " JM ". L. barrel : 80 cm - L.H.T. 119 cm.
