PAIR OF PLATES DECORATED WITH A SCROLL IN CHINA PORCELAIN. Kangxi period (1662-1722). Decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red, green, and gold with a border of chrysanthemums among stylized branches framing a scroll, the central scene of a bird flying near a prunus branch facing bamboo. An identical plate is held in the Reeves Center Collection and published by Thomas V. Litzenburg, Jr. in Chinese Export Porcelain in the Reeves Center Collection at Washington and Lee University (2003, p. 78, no. 62). Minor chips. Diameter : 22,5 cm.
