Watteau Antoine
New book of different trophies... Paris, Huquier et vve Chereau, circa 1735. In-folio, 26,5 x 34,5cm, title-frontispiece and [11] plates, bound in the first half of the 20th century in fawn basane, triple gilt fillet on the boards, spine decorated with gilt faux-nerve and gilt motifs, triple gilt fillet on the inside, completely untrimmed. Nice edition, before the numbering, of this rare suite of 12 plates (including the title) engraved by Gabriel Huquier. A good copy. The plates are mounted on mitre and have full margins (except for the first and the fourth, which are slightly shorter). From the library of Jean Furstenberg (1890-1982), co-founder of the International Association of Bibliophily (bookplate).
