Alençon lace ruffle, needlepoint, circa 1860-70. Large steering wheel with superb decoration well in the spirit of this period, production of the House Huignard-Besnard. Very finely realized with the needle, rivers in fall to roll up decorated with modes, retained by a bouquet of roses with beautiful foliage, bellflowers, bunches of flowers, branches of ivy and volubilis flowers, the border with medallions and foliage, the reasons connected by the simple network of Alençon. Cotton color dark ivory, horsehair in border and on some of the motives. Dim. 1,85 + 1,70 = 3,55 m x 21 cm included. (good condition, 1,80 m : some pale freckles, 1,75 m : rare small holes in the network)
