Rare headdress, Brussels or England, spindles, circa 1720-30. A dense decoration with mirror patterns, a fine example of the style in vogue at that time and well representative of the productions of the Brussels region of that period. In bobbin lace of great finesse, sometimes called "Point d'Angleterre" with floral decoration of carnations, bulbous flowers, flowers and foliage, worked in grid and canvas, some cartridges decorated with the eye of partridge, others with fine bridles linking the patterns between them, the two barbs joined to the triangle worn on the top of the head. Linen color light ivory. Dim. total length : 71 cm, width of the beard : 11 cm (good condition) See Santina M. Levey "Lace a History" pl. 297 & 320
