Jean Trubert, protean French illustrator, is marked during his youth by the works of Benjamin Rabier, Gustave Doré or Caran d'Ache, then St Ogan. Among his comrades, colleagues and friends we note Rigot, Peynet, Joubert, Lecureux, Hergé, Jacobs, Pellos, Calvo... He worked for the publicity, for the youth illustration (for example in Junior, Vaillant, his theme of predilection being the fantastic Middle Ages), made of the press drawing, of the comic strip (with for example the series Don Quichotte appeared in Tintin, or the resumption of the famous Bécassine at Gautier Langereau).
