Portrait of a woman in bacchante (1783). Oval miniature, signed and dated on the right "Vestier 1783", depicting her in a three-quarter bust to the left, her breasts bare, looking up. Vertical crack through. Preserved in an oval gilt bronze frame, the gilt metal edge engraved with foliage, with collection labels. H. 7.4 x W. 6.3 cm (when viewed) Frame: H. 10.5 x W. 9.5 cm. Related work Our miniature is a reduction of the large oil on canvas by Vestier, also dated 1783, depicting the same subject, with the head turned to the other side, kept in the Carnavalet Museum, History of Paris (inv. P609).
