Cession of Canada and restitution of part... - Lot 254 - Coutau-Bégarie
Cession of Canada and restitution of part of Polynesia [TRAIT OF FONTAINEBLEAU - WAR OF SEVEN YEARS]. LAGUÉ. L.A.S. addressed to M. Borelly, in Antibes. Marseille, November 10, 1762. 2 ½ pp. in-4. Address on the verso of the second leaf with armorial stamp under paper. Fancy spelling. [...] Many people are of the opinion that this peace will not last in relation to the sacrifices we are making, and I would almost agree with them. The Count de Choiseul has worked a lot on the work that is currently causing universal joy, and has been made Duke of Praslin. I would like to be able to describe to you the excesses of the people of this great city on this happy event. It is a din and confused cries since this night and which still last [...]".
