SULLY PRUDHOMME (1839-1907),
poet, first holder of the Nobel Prize of Literature of the history, in 1901. Set of 10 pieces. 7 L.A.S. and 3 C.V.A. of which one initialed. Paris and Chatenay, 1867-1902. About 13 pp. in-8 or in-16 oblong. He evokes the manuscript of his poem Les Ecuries d'Augias, refuses that his verses are put "lower than the prose", sends a poem of Coppée, evokes politics, his relatives, the Academy, the Society of the People of Letters, etc. A L.A.S. signed by Lecomte who recommends the reading of Sully Prudhomme, Victor Hugo and Lafontaine is enclosed.
