Invitation to come and listen to Gilbert Duprez, great tenor of the years 1830-1840, at his home in Saint-Gratien. "M. de Chateaubriand and Madame Récamier are willing to attend this musical matinee, and they have assured me that you will also be willing to accept my invitation as well as Madame David. I hope that the pleasure they will have in meeting you will make you decide to give me the pleasure of getting to know a person whom I have long wished to meet [...]". Astolphe de Custine was the son of the beautiful Delphine, Chateaubriand's former love.
