MANUFACTURE BERNARD BLOCH
Tobacco pot with the effigy of Victor Hugo (1802-1885). In polychrome terra cotta. Wear of time, small accidents on the back. Hollow marks on the back of the initials B. B. (Bernard Bloch) and n° 155. As is. L. : 25 cm - W. : 16 cm. History: on this representation, Victor Hugo is sitting on a pouf, his left arm leaning on a book resting on a side table. His hand is placed on his head and his finger is raised as if he was thinking. His other arm is bent and his right hand is tucked into his vest. He is dressed in a black suit and a white shirt. The pot is in two parts separated at the level of the knees: the cover is composed of the upper body of Victor Hugo and the seat. The pot is made up of the bottom of the footstool and the legs of the writer.
