Portrait of Charles-Philippe, count of Artois (1757-1836), future king Charles X. Oil on canvas, preserved in its beautiful original carved and gilded wood frame with palmettes decoration. French work of the House Souty in Paris. Slight wear from the time, small accidents to the frame, but good general condition. Sight : H. : 63 cm - L. : 52,5 cm. Frame: H.: 90 cm - W.: 80 cm. Provenance : as indicated on the reverse of the painting on the frame, former collection of the "Maréchal et de la Maréchale, duchesse de Coigny", from the sale of the castle of Laval in Reilhaguet. History : Marie François Henri de Franquetot, duke of Coigny (1737-1821), was born in a French military family, he was elevated to the rank of Peer of France in 1814, by king Louis XVIII and appointed governor of the Hôtel royal des Invalides, where he was buried.
