Portrait of Princess Elisabeth-Alexandrine de Bourbon, known as Mademoiselle de Sens (1705-1765). Oil on canvas preserved in an old carved and gilded wooden frame, decorated with a frieze of foliage. Restorations, but good general condition. Sight : H. : 54 cm - W. : 45 cm. Frame : H. : 65 cm - W. : 56 cm. History : this portrait comes from the abbey of Marmoutier near Tours, as indicated by the handwritten inscription on the back of the painting. It was exhibited at the Château de Tourronde in Lugrin, on June 5, 1950 (stamped in red ink on the frame). This work is to be compared with a portrait made by Jean-Baptiste Santerre (1725), located in the museum of the castle of Versailles.
