The Utopia of Thomas Morus, chancellor of England; an ingenious idea to remedy the misfortune of men; & to procure for them a complete happiness. This work contains the plan of a republic whose laws, uses, & customs tend only to make human societies pass through Life in all imaginable smoothness. Republic, which will become infallibly real, as soon as the mortals will behave by reason. Newly translated into French by Mr. Gueudeville & decorated with very beautiful figures, Pierre Van der Aa Leide, 1715, 372 + 48 pages. Format in-12 (165 x 100 mm), bound in vellum, spine ribbed and decorated with floral motifs, title in gold letters. Wear of use, but fresh inside. Good general condition.
