MARNYHAC
Important clock in mahogany, bronze and bevelled glass. The pediment molded with steps, the rectangular base decorated with reserves. The case holds a dial simulating a watch holder in white enamel, the contour in gilded bronze, the hands forming arrows, Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic for the minutes. Movement signed MARNYHAC, numbered 4285, monogrammed AH. Louis XVI style, second half of the 19th century. D. : 57 x 37.5 x 25.5 cm. Marnyhac is the trade name of the Société des Marbres et Bronzes Artistiques de Paris, established since the middle of the 19th century. Directed by Charles de Marnyhac, the company specializes in the production of luxury objects and cast iron. Marnyhac successfully participated in the 1878 World's Fair, where it won a medal, and then in the 1900 World's Fair, before closing its doors around 1910.
