Pair of spindle vases in brown patina and gilt bronze, the neck decorated with water leaves, the handles applied with scrolling leaves ending in a helmeted head. The square base in black marble. Empire period. H. : 33.3 cm. (Some shocks) The master bronzer, Claude Galle (1759-1815), created similar models at the end of the 18th century. At the beginning of the XIXth century, he participated in the furnishing of great royal and imperial residences in France and in Italy such as the Tuileries Palace, the Fontainebleau castle or the Grand Trianon in Versailles.
