Hebe. Marble. End of the XIXth century H. 142 cm (a metal rod protrudes under the base to fix it on a column) Hebe is the goddess of youth. Her role in classical mythology was to pour the drink of immortality to the other Greek gods. Thorvaldsen created two versions of Hebe, this model from 1806 and a second version in 1816, almost identical to the first but with the chest entirely covered by the dress Preserved in the Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark
