Ecole Française d'apres Louis BOUDAN (XVIe siècle)
Françoise Robertet, (1519 -1580) wife of Tristan de Rostaing, baron of Brou and la Guerche, grand master of the waters and forests of France, lieutenant general in the government of Isle-de-France, captain of Fontainebleau, knight of the Holy Spirit. Oil on panel (restorations) Partial resumption of her full-length portrait painted on parchment by Louis Boudan after her original portrait at the marquis de Lavardin. preserved at the BNF (Reserve Oa 18 FOL) Françoise Robertet (1519-1580), lady of Alluye in succession to Florimond III, was married twice: first to Jean Babou de la Bourdaisière, grand master of the artillery of France, then to Jean d'Aumont, marshal of France who fought at Ivry on the side of Henri IV. From her first marriage was born Françoise Babou de La Bourdaisière, who married in Chartres, in 1559, Antoine d'Estrées, from the great family of Picardy, governor of Paris and Île-de-France. Françoise Babou d'Estrées was killed in Issoire in 1592 with her lover Yves IV marquis d'Alègre, in a riot during the wars of the League. She left 9 children; one was the marshal François-Annibal, but the most famous is Gabrielle d'Estrées (1571-1599), by whom the two Françoises (Robertet and Babou) count among the ancestors of Louis XV. Gabrielle d'Estrées This great-granddaughter of Florimond Robertet became a favorite of King Henry IV who made her Marquise de Montceaux, then Duchess of Beaufort. Indeed, he met Gabrielle in Alluye and as a result, the king made the barony of Alluye a marquisate. The charming Gabrielle was very attached to the king ("who only loves, sees, hears and knows d'Estrées") and was preparing to marry him when she suddenly died of poisoning after a banquet. She had three natural children from King Henry IV, including César de Bourbon, Duke of Vendôme, who was legitimized, and opened the line of the "Great Vendômes"; her son and grandsons continued the tradition of the valorous generals of the Grand Siècle, while Elisabeth, married to Charles Amédée de Savoie-Nemours, was the fifteenth grandmother of Louis XV.
