SERGE GAINSBOURG (1928/1991): Actor, author,... - Lot 139 - Coutau-Bégarie
SERGE GAINSBOURG (1928/1991): Actor, author, composer and performer. 1 acetate record, engraved on one side, of an original song by Serge Gainsbourg recorded in duet with Brigitte Bardot: Je t'aime, moi non plus. This is the first recording of the song. It was recorded on December 10th 1967 at the Barclay Studio on Avenue Hoche in Paris. The musical part of the song had previously been recorded at the Fontana Studio in London. The next day, the song was broadcast for the first time on Europe 1 at 12.30 pm. The only problem was that Brigitte Bardot had been married to the German businessman Günter Sachs since July 14 1966 and he did not appreciate his wife's sensual duet with Gainsbourg at all. He immediately had the release of the album and other radio broadcasts banned. The actress also intervened personally on 21 December 1967, writing a letter to her artistic director. For serious and serious private reasons, she explained that "Je t'aime, moi non plus" should not be released under any circumstances. This acetate vinyl copy was made on December 27th 1967, at Serge Gainsbourg's request, after the record's release ban and after the destruction of the engravings for the pressing of the 45 rpm record. Unique piece.
