[HOURS PRINTED FOR THE USE OF ROME]. Heures a lusaige de // Romme tout au long sans riens requerir. Printed newly in Paris. [Paris, Guillaume Godard, S. d. (circa 1518)] Almanac for X years. In-8 (175 X115 cm), brown calf, cold-stamped framing decoration on the boards, spine gilt, 3 (out of 4) clasps without fasteners (period binding worn). 108 ff on vellum. The almanac with text in French and Latin covers the period from 1518 to 1528. Text in gothic script in Latin with 24 lines per page, fully framed with gilt border. The publisher's imprint on the title indicates the Mark of Guillaume Godard. The illustration consists of the anatomical figure, 69 finely illuminated framed woodcuts, 14 of which are large full-page engravings, and numerous capitals rubricated in red and blue. A fine book of hours printed for the use of Rome. The copy in the Morgan Library, New York, consists of 112 ff. and is illustrated with 15 large and 64 small illuminated woodcuts. Ff reversed in some quires. The f.100 is cut on a rectangle of 3 X 4,5cm. Marginal brown stain on 2 ff.
