Chinese porcelain dish. Qianlong, circa 1738-40 With Imari decoration, the center with the arms of France, frieze with the two L's joined and crowned in reserves on the fall, various floral and fan motifs on the wing, small chip to the rim, chips, small scratches and wear D.: 28 cm. Provenance: From the service commissioned by King Louis XV, probably for the winter dining room on the second floor of Versailles. Notes : This service was commissioned by King Louis XV through the French East India Company in 1738.
