Léon Hingre (1860-1926?),Le règne de la Nuit, circa 1900 Folded fan, the paper sheet painted with gouache on a midnight blue background of Diana, wearing a crescent moon, on her chariot pulled by butterflies driven by a lover. She throws flowers towards a young woman asleep, lying on the wings of an owl and intoxicated by the perfume of a poppy. Two nymphs make two stars sparkle on the left. Signed "L. Hingre" on the right. Date "1860" apocryphal. Silk reverse, mute. Mother-of-pearl burgau mount very finely cut in harmony of flowers and butterflies. H.t. 24,5 cm-H.f. 14,8 cm (slight wear to the folds, small restorations to the plume) N.B. : Léon Hingre exhibited for the first time at Salon des artistes français in 1879. He is known as a painter and poster artist.
