KIRAZ Edmond Kirazian, dit (1923-2020) 2
The Parisian women 2. Illustration "The bicycles". Edmond Kirazian, known as Kiraz, was born in Cairo in 1923 into a Francophile family of Armenian origin. Self-taught, he began his career as a political cartoonist and caricaturist at the age of 17. In 1946, he moved to Paris and immediately fell under the spell of its inhabitants. He is particularly known for his numerous illustrations on the theme of Parisian women. Glazed paper women of an incredible friends with long silhouettes, impertinent and funny lovers, muses of a sharp fashion, these faces travel the capital in a very graceful way. Kiraz collaborated with many magazines such as Ici Paris, Gala, Paris Match, Glamour, or Playboy, but it is especially with Jours de France that he will let his saga of Parisian women express itself from 1959 to 1987. Gouache, Indian ink and pencil on paper. Signed by the author. Dimensions (at sight) : 30,5 x 22 cm. Sold framed
