An 18th century Indian box, quadrangular in shape, made of wood inlaid with ivory, resting on four feet, the lid fixed by hinges containing compartments. The lid is decorated with a circular medallion decorated with flowers in the form of bells, branches, foliage and swirling plants. The edge of the medallion is decorated with a frieze of alternating ivory and ebony plates fixed by brass studding. The four sides are decorated with plant stems forming bouquets. Inside the lid, a document holder and a small mirror with a plant frieze alternating with ivory and ebony plates. Seven storage compartments, one with a lid and the other with a sliding drawer, conceal the bottom. Brass handles and handles Gujarat region India 38 X 26 Ht 16 cm.
